Trip to Le Paris, PD

Mummy have 2 more days of Legend Worldwide Holidays entitlement to use up before they expire. So was thinking hard where to go to finish up those 2 days entitlement. Didn't want to choose a too far away place to drive to. So decided to try the Le Paris Hotel due to its name and location. Looking at the website, it looked like it is an ok place to go for a short holiday.

So, Mummy booked a room for us to celebrate Iman's 4th birthday and also Mummy & Ayah's 7th Wedding Anniversary (according to Hijrah Calendar as Mummy and Ayah got married the day before Awal Muharram!). We arrived at the Le Paris Hotel on Saturday at almost 4 pm! There were so many people waiting to check in at the reception. Some had waited for more than 1 hr! Not a good start for a holiday. Luckily we didn't have to wait that long since it was booked under Legend Holidays. But because there were so many people, Ayah was already edgy about it.

Went upstairs to our room and we spent most of our time in the room. Iman was watching one VCD after another on Mummy's notebook. While Mummy spent most of Mummy's time sleeping since Mummy couldn't use Mummy's notebook. Here's the pictures of the holiday.. nothing much actually!

We were supposed to check out only on Monday, but by Sunday evening, both Ayah and Iman ganged up to persuade Mummy that our home is a better place to be. So, we checked out by 5.30 pm on Sunday. And spent the remaining holiday at the comfort of our home sweet home.. It is  tough having 2 home-bodies in the family! Both Iman and Ayah are hardcore home-bodies! Mummy would just have to live with it! But Mummy love both of them.. so it is definitely worth it to live with them! He..he..he..

Christmas BBQ in Seremban

Mummy's friends had made plan to have BBQ lunch at our teacher's house in Seremban. Ayah has asked Mummy to go and leave Iman with Ayah. But on the day itself, Iman wanted to follow Mummy.. It turned out to be a good Mummy-Iman outing!

Here's some photos taken during the outing:

Iman's 4th Birthday

Iman has been looking forward to her birthday since January! So we told her that her birthday is in December. Being 3 at that time, of course Iman didn't know how long she had to wait till December comes. It was so funny to see her anxious look whenever she watched Birthday Wishes on Playhouse Disney Channel and waiting for them to say December.

When December finally arrived, we told her that she has to wait till 27th because that is her birthday! That's the bad thing about having a late December baby. The other thing bad is that it will always be during school holiday, so it would be tough trying to get to do the celebration on the exact date.

We had to celebrate Iman's birthday on 24th December because we were worried that there would be too few kids on 26th December (which was the last day of school).

Here's the pictures of the birthday celebration done in Young Ambassadors:

And here's are the party packs and her birthday presents:

Trip to Taman Tasik Perdana

Skali had a Le Tour Skali event at Taman Tasik Perdana. So Mummy asked Ayah and Iman to come along. That was Mummy's first trip ever to Taman Tasik Perdana with Iman and Ayah. When we arrived at the parking area, Iman made a statement that shocked Mummy! Iman actually recognized the place! Iman said "Eh?! Iman came here with Achik (her auntie - Mummy's sister) and Uncle Shuk dulu! Kat sana tu ada Taman Rusa!" while pointing. Mummy was so surprised that after one trip to that area, Iman could already identify the place! Not bad!

Iman didn't want to be at the Le Tour Skali event! Spent most of her time running around in the Playground nearby till her face turned all read and scared off so many Skalians who had never seen a face turning red like Iman's! Ha..ha..ha.. Mummy had to assure everyone who commented that it is a natural reaction for Iman whenever she plays in the hot sun.

Here's some pictures of Iman happily playing in the playground.

Iman & Her New Strawberry bag

Achik went to Cameron Highlands and came back with a strawberry bag for Iman. Iman was so excited to get the bag that she insisted to bring the bag to school the next day!

Here's some pictures of Iman with the bag.. ready to go to school.

Qurban 2008

As usual, we always make sure we go back to Kelantan for Qurban as it is definitely more fun celebrating Aidil Adha with the Qurban activities.

Young Ambassadors' Concert 2008

Iman was working very hard practising to be one of the 4 rabbits on the Old MacDonald's Farm. Thank God Arissa's Mummy helped Mummy to buy the long sleeve white t-shirt and long white pants for Iman. Mummy decided that a rabbit without its furry tail will not a cute rabbit. So, Mummy had improvised it that Iman would have a furry cute white tail to go with Iman's costume.

The concert was held at Dewan Cempaka in Kelab Darul Ehsan. The occasion started at about 2:3o p.m. Iman was indeed a very brave and great rabbit.

Iman - Vomitting Spell

It was with great sadness Mummy took this pictures to remember the day Iman got so sick with the vomiting spell... and fever too. It was truly a test of a mother's love, to be able to handle vomit and the feelings of wanting to take the sickness and keep it away from Iman! Mummy would rather have the vomitting spell than have Iman experiencing it. I love you Iman! Was glad that Iman was well again after 2 days.

Iman's Trip to Aquaria

Iman's class (4-year old) and the 3-year old class are going to Aquaria again. This is Iman's second visit to Aquaria and Iman should be able to go with her classmates without chaperone. However, Mummy just couldn't let Iman go without going with her. Somehow Mummy didn't want to miss out the fun of spending half-day with Iman at the Aquaria.

So, Mummy make all the necessary arrangement so that Mummy was free that morning to go along. Mummy was the only Mother among Iman's classmate who decided to be the volunteer to accompany them for this trip. Mummy was glad Mummy had taken the time off to do this with Iman.

Here's some photos of the trip:

Day 3 - Checking out of Cherating

We were up early on the last day in Legend Cherating. Mummy had a breakfast appointment with Aunty Mok and Aunty Pah (old friends from SSP) @ Kemaman Kopitiam in Kuantan town. Pity Iman had to wake up early and have such an early bath.

Some pictures in Cherating and some in the Kopitiam:

Day 2 in Legend Cherating

The photographer always starts work early:

As soon as Iman woke up and had some breakfast, we went to the beach to build sandcastle! One of Iman's favourite thing to do at the beach!

Spent most of the time in our room waiting for the evening because it was just too hot to go to the beach or to the pool! Here's the pictures of Iman playing in the pool at Legend Cherating:

We went out to have dinner with Iman's cousin, K.Farah and took some pictures afterwards:

Iman's First Trip to Cherating

It has been a long time since our last trip anywhere. Iman has been nagging Mummy to go to hotel as Iman perceive holiday as spending time in hotel. Since both Mummy and Ayah were busy then, we decided to have a local holiday where it was drivable and not too long a drive. So, we decided to go to Legend Cherating.

Iman was so excited to go... Thank God it was just about 2.5 hour drive from home. But Iman spent most of the time sleeping anyway.

Here's some pictures of the sceneries around Legend Cherating and the beach area:

During the evening of Day 1 in Cherating, we spent sometime in the Playground area. Here's some pictures of us at the Playground:

Then we went to play at the beach. Actually only Iman was playing at the beach. Mummy was busy being a photographer and Ayah was busy being a watch-guard for Iman.

Cocoon

Watching Ultraman has been Iman and Ayah's daily ritual where the father-daughter bonding is strengthened. Mummy is not really for the idea for Iman watching too much Ultraman but somehow Mummy is fighting a losing battle.. as Iman is now really into Ultraman.
Iman and Ayah was watching Ultraman together yesterday. The monster produced white thingy and enveloped Ultraman like cocoon. Iman asked Ayah.. what's that? Ayah was trying so hard to explain about the white thingy when Iman suddenly said.. "Oh?! It's the cocoon. Like the butterfly!"
Ayah was so embarrased that Iman actually knows what Cocoon is.. while Ayah was trying to find simple explaination. Kids nowadays so exposed and more knowledgeable than us back then. He..he..he... Now it becomes a joke in our household about Cocoon...

Still about growing up

Iman pointed out again that she is now growing up. Her feet has grown and her legs are bigger now. She usually noticed that her thighs are bigger whenever she sat on the toilet bowl. Somehow the thight seemed bigger when she was in sitting position.

So Mummy told Iman that Mummy don't like the idea of Iman growing up too fast because Mummy is worried that Iman will not love Mummy anymore when Iman grows up. Iman quickly hugged Mummy and held Mummy's face in her small hands and said "No, Mummy.. Iman still love Mummy when Iman grow up!" Mummy was so touched with Iman's expression of love and really could feel her love. We dropped the subject at that.

Yesterday, Mummy was held up at work. So Ayah picked Iman up. As her regular routine, Iman would pooh pooh after she came back from school. So, while sitting on the toilet bowl, Iman again saw her big thigh. Iman told Ayah about the talk she had with Mummy about Mummy worried that Iman would not love Mummy when Iman grows up. Iman actually told Ayah that Iman would love Mummy and Ayah when she grows up... What a sweet thing to hear your child expressing her love, eh?!

Mummy is so glad that Mummy actually brought Iman up to be that kind of person. Very expressive about her love.. at the same time also very expressive about her anger whenever she is not happy about something. Mummy really have to do something about Iman's expression when she is angry.. otherwise Mummy think Mummy have done a good job already! He..he..he..

I love you, Iman!

Iman in colouring mood

Iman always has a nice pose when she is colouring... She can spend a few hours colouring while listening to the TV. Iman would only look up to watch every now and again when she heard something interesting. Otherwise colouring can really occupy her time.

Iman's New Hair band

Mummy liked the hair band so much that Mummy just bought it even though Iman didn't like it at the beginning.

Iman has grown up

Iman can't wait to grow up! Everyday Iman checked herself in the mirror and declared that she has grown up. Today Iman told Mummy to call her Kakak Iman. Iman said that if Mummy take out baby from Mummy's tummy (which is not happening as Mummy is not pregnant!), Iman will help to take care of the baby! Iman is just so in a hurry to grow up! Or is it because Iman is lonely? Iman has not formally requested for a younger sister but her wish to be called Kakak and her offer to take care of Mummy's non-existense baby is now making Mummy started to think. Do Mummy need to give a baby to Iman? Is it time to have a baby?

Seriously, Mummy is not for the idea of another baby. Life with Iman is already so full and complete and busy! Mummy don't think we need another baby now. Our already nice arrangement is going to be havoc with the presence of a baby. Of course, the fact that Mummy has reached the age of risky pregnancy and potentially bad high blood pressure attacks are not a very welcoming idea. But the idea of Iman being lonely is disturbing Mummy that now Mummy is watching Little Einstein with Iman just to keep her company. Mummy would rather watch cartoons with Iman than go through pregnancy just to give Iman a sibling to play with. Of God.. Mummy is really confused now.

Iman's New Pink Boots

It has been raining lately. Iman has been asking Mummy to buy a pair of pink boots for her! Mummy was at wits end trying to figure out where do they sell pink Phua Chu Kang's boot.
When Mummy was in EPF, Mummy decided to go to Sogo during lunch time to look for some new teats for Iman. Instead Mummy saw a pair of pink boots! Mummy just couldn't resist it! It was definitely not the Phua Chu Kang type, but it is boots and it is pink! That's somehow more important than the teats that Mummy was supposed to buy to replace all those bitten ones.
Luckily lately Mummy have been buying shoes and sandals for Iman, so Mummy know Iman's size exactly! When the sales girl found size 28, Mummy was almost jumping with joy! Of course Mummy would prefer size 29 which would last longer before Iman outgrow those boots.. but since only size 28 was available, Mummy just grabbed them before they were taken by other people.
It was so great to see the expression on Iman's face to get the boots... but it was short-lived. After thanking Mummy for buying the boots, Iman said "Nanti Mummy buy princess boots, ok?!"
Here's the new pink boots. Not bad looking eh?

5 Syawal 2008 - Sessi Santai

Iman has been pestering Mummy and Ayah to bring her for swimming sessions. Since it was fasting month.. we kept giving Iman that excuses. Mummy finally ran out of that excuse and decided to let Iman go for swimming. Iman insisted that Mummy invited Arissa to join her first to play at the playground.. then for a swim.

Went to the playground @ 2:30 p.m. or so because Iman and Arissa have been pestering Mummy since morning! Mummy won't be able to have a peaceful day until they got to go to the playground. So there we were at that time of day in the playground! Nobody in their right mind would have done that! But Mummy had very little choice as Mummy was alone managing the fort!

Here's some photos of Iman playing with Arissa :

We went back to the house to have some nuggets and some rest before we went to the pool. It looked like it was going to rain and Mummy just rounded up Iman and Arissa quickly to the pool so that they could play for a while and be happy with idea of spending some quality time in the pool.

Here's the photos at the pool:

3 Syawal 1429H = 3 October 2008 @ Sri Ayu

We couldn't just kept going to people's house without hosting our own open house, can't we?! So, Mummy and Ayah decided to have the open house for our immediate families only on the 3rd Hari Raya.

Menu was very simple! Sup Tulang to be eaten with either nasi impit or sweet roll or french bread or wholemeal bread; and Ayah's famous mee goreng. There we also some serunding a.k.a. sambal daging to be eaten with the nasi impit as Mummy didn't have enough time to actually cook rendang. Not that Mummy doesn't know how to.. it was more of no time as we were busy beraya the day before and was only back home late evening again. Sounds like excuses eh?! Whatever...

Anyway, Ayah's clan all came after Friday prayer and Mummy's clan came late evening and stayed back to help Mummy clean up. All in all.. the food was sufficient for everybody and nice enough. We had a good time playing host and hostess. Iman managed to entertain herself while Mummy and Ayah busy entertaining the guests.

Some photos of the open house:

2 Syawal 1429H = 2 October 2008 @ Bukit Mahkota

We were invited for brunch at Ayah Lan's hosue in Bukit Mahkota for our second day of raya. After a very tiring first day, we slept in and let Iman to take her time to get up. Had our light breakfast then only went to Ayah Lan's house.

1 Syawal 1429H = 1 October 2008 @ Bandar Baru Bangi

We went to Tok Syam's house as the last house to 'beraya' on the first day of raya. Tok Yong and Nenek Idah came down from Kota Bharu too.

We celebrated Alang's birthday too.. Mummy got her a chocolate birthday cake! Here it is:

Here's some photos taken in Tok Syam's house:

1 Syawal 1429H = 1 October 2008 @ Kota Damansara

From Nenek's house we proceeded to Kota Damansara to celebrate Aidilfitri with the family from Ayah's side at Cik Na's house. All the family members decided to gather at Cik Na's house for lunch. Cik Han and Ayah Ki with 5 (Angah, K.Dillah, K.Atik, K.Azah and A.Azat) out of 6 of their kids, Cik Na and Ayah Nan with 4 kids (K.Ida, A.Azim, K.Nadia & A.Hafiz), Ayah Di and Aunty Lina with 4 kids (K.Muna, A.Mateen, K.Yam & Dedek), Ayah Lan and Aunty Rus with 1 kid - Wani! So many people! Then Aunty Yanti and Uncle Firdaus turned up too.

Here's the pictures taken at Cik Na's house: (Iman was a popular target...)

1 Syawal 1429H = 1 October 2008 @ Bella Vista

When we arrived at Nenek's house in Bella Vista at 10:30 a.m., we were the only family there other than the permenant residents of the house. Somehow this year's celebration was a bit more sombre than the previous raya since the families of Achik, Ibu Ya and Uncle Joe not around to celebrate together with us.

Luckily Achik and her 4 kids turned up with Uncle Shuk about half and hour later. At least the situation turned more cheerful.

Some photos taken at Nenek's house:

1 Syawal 1429H = 1 October 2008 @ Sri Ayu

This marked the day we celebrated our Hari Raya Aidilfitri for this year, after 1 month fasting in Ramadhan. Mummy couldn't go for Solat Sunat Aidilfitri again this year as Iman was still deep asleep when Ayah left for the Masjid Wilayah. Maybe next Aidilfitri Iman would be old enough to go with Mummy to perform the solat.

Here's some pictures of Iman in her new baju raya. Iman looked so grown up being 3 years 9 month old! And some pictures of us before we left for Nenek's house to celebrate with the rest of the clan.

Generation Z

Mummy attended a talk last Saturday and found out that Mummy is considered from Generation X, while the teenagers are from Generation Y and Iman is in the category of Generation Z! What a big gap there is between Iman and Mummy! That's the price of having a kid when Mummy is already so 'matured'! Ha..ha..ha...

Before attending the talk, Mummy had a slight raised-voice session with Ayah. Iman held Mummy's hand and said "Mummy, don't be angry with Ayah." Then she turned to her dad and said "Ayah, don't be angry with Mummy, ok?" Having heard her said that, both Mummy and Ayah realised that Iman was affected by our behaviour. So both of us quickly changed our tone and things got back to normal. That must be how Generation Z tackle issues.. by just being bold and gave the necessary advice.

At the same time, carrying Mummy's gene, Iman is bound to be outspoken like Mummy and will just speak-up her mind.

Mummy learned that according to the teaching of Saidina Ali, the way to bring up a child is splitted into 7 years quadrant. The first seven years (0-7) is the period when parents should play with the kids. The second seven years (8-14) is when parents should start to discipline the kids. The third seven years (15-21) is when the parents should be the kids' bestfriends. The last seven years (22-29) is when the parents should treat the child as adults.

Mummy is glad that this is the period of playing for Iman and Mummy.. but it would be tough trying to discipline Iman later.. so Mummy will start to include discipline while playing with Iman.. Mummy is really looking forward to be Iman's bestfriends!

Iman and Her Barbie Diamond Castle Umbrella

We were shopping in Parkson when Iman all of a sudden saw the Barbie Diamond Castle Umbrella and insisted that we bought it for her. Since we have been thinking about getting her an umbrella, now is a good time as any to buy it. So here's some pictures of Iman posing with her new umbrella:

Iman Posing in her New Minney Mouse Swimsuit

Mummy thought Iman needs a more 'muslimah' type of swimming suit for kids, so decided to get Iman this new swimming suit. Get Iman to pose in her new swimsuit. Mummy think Iman looks cute! He..he..he... Don't let that go to your head, Iman.... All mummies think their kids are cute!

A Message by George Carlin

Mummy thought it would be great for Iman to be able to read about this message when Iman is able to read and understand.

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares?

Fasting

We were in the car, driving to Mid Valley for a shopping activities. In view of Ramadhan coming, Mummy wanted to explain about Ramadhan to Iman. Mummy told Iman that adults have to fast during Ramadhan which is tomorrow.

Mummy said "when we are fasting, we can't eat and we can't drink." Then quietly Iman said, "if we are slow, the we can eat and drink kan?" Mummy was puzzled at first.. not understanding what Iman was saying. Then Mummy realised that Iman got the root word of fasting which is fast. So, if we are fasting we can't eat and drink but if we are slow, which is the opposite of fast, we can eat and drink!

It was amazing what a child can come up with! So, Mummy quickly explained that fasting is not the opposite of slow. Fasting means we can't eat and drink. When Iman came back from school on Tuesday, she seemed to have a clearer understanding about fasting. That as a small child she doesn't have to fast. Only adults have to fast. So she just continue to eat and drink. Maybe that's how the teacher explained about fasting.

For a 3 years 9 months old kid.. that's good enough for now.

Arissa's first sleepover at Iman's house

Arissa (Iman's 6 year-old cousin) followed Iman back to Iman's house just to play with Iman. It was arranged that Achik, Arissa's mum would come and pick Arissa up that evening on their way back from Kuala Kangsar.

Iman already had a plan to ask Achik to let Arissa play a little longer but Arissa had a better plan! She wanted to spend the night at Iman's house! When Achik turned up to pick up Arissa that night, both Iman and Arissa ended up crying! Iman didn't want Arissa to leave and Arissa wanted to stay overnight! Both parents - Mummy and Achik were so helpless looking at both kids crying. In the end we caved in and let them have their way. Arissa's first sleepover! Both of them were so excited about the whole idea of the sleepover! Both mummies were just worried whether they can survive the sleepover.

Since Arissa is bigger than Iman, we were worried that there was no pyjamas that we could let Arissa borrow. There was only 1 pyjama that Mummy bought too big for Iman to wear now.. the Mariposa pyjama. Mummy didn't want to suggest that in case Iman would be upset since she herself could not wear the pyjama yet. But to Mummy's pleasant surprise, Iman was the one who remembered about the pyjama and suggested that we let Arissa borrow it for the night. Mummy was very very touched and happy with Iman's thoughtfulness and willingness to share! Even at 3 years 9 months, she was being very matured and kind. Mummy must have done something right in the upbringing. He..he..he.. Still wanting to take credit for Iman's good behaviour. Oh well... when your child is good.. she carries her gene.. but when she is bad.. she must be taking after the father. Ha..ha..ha...

So here's some photos taken during the sleepover. Look at how happy both cousins are!

Ayah decided to let Iman sleep with Mummy and Ayah and let Arissa has the bed for herself. Here's some photos after the sleepover. Iman learnt how to write her name from Arissa. Both seemed happy with the sleepover! Maybe we can do it again next time...

Another outing with Nurin

Iman went to meet up with Nurin again at the Carrefour Playground. Iman's cousin, Arissa came along for the outing but that didn't stop Iman from spending some quality time with Nurin. It was great to see that even after a few months not meeting one another, the two friends are still as good friends that they used to be.

Iman needs some friends to play with...

Iman has been asking Mummy to get Arissa (her cousin) to come to our house to play with Iman. Arissa came last Saturday 9th August with Nenek and Alang when Mummy and Ayah had to attend the Sri Ayu's Residents AGM. Iman had a good time playing with Arissa until Iman fall asleep because Iman woke up too early. By the time Mummy and Ayah came home, Iman just woke up and Nenek wanted to leave already. So Arissa was going home and Iman felf that she didn't get enough time to play with Arissa anymore.

Iman kept asking Mummy to send Iman to Arissa's house.. so Mummy had to promise Iman that Mummy would send Iman to Arissa's house on Sunday just so that Iman would stop pastering Mummy.

Come Sunday morning, Iman was trying to collect the promise Mummy made. When Mummy called Achik and she was out of their house, Iman was already in tears. It was so heartbreaking to see how badly Iman wanted to be with other kids. Finally Mummy get to talk to Achik and she asked Mummy to send Iman to Tesco Ampang because she was there with her kids. Iman was jumping with joy thinking about the plan to go and meet up her cousins! Iman actually declared "I am going to have a great time!". That coming from a 3 years and 7 months old kid, was quite a surprise to Mummy!

At 11:00 a.m. we finally got to Tesco Ampang and after spending about 1/2 hour with them, Mummy finally left Iman to spend the time with her cousins. The plan was that Mummy will pick Iman up by about 3:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. on Mummy's way back from the gathering with Mummy's University friends.

Iman really had a great time with her cousins. Here's some pictures to show what a great time Iman had!

Birthdays

Today is Ayah's 50th birthday! Iman woke up and went looking for ayah this morning. Shouted "Happy Birthday, Ayah!" through the bathroom door where ayah was at that time. Iman was rather excited about Ayah's birthday because Iman has been waiting for Iman's birthday and yet Ayah's birthday arrived first!

Lately Iman has been talking about her plan for her birthday. Now she knows that her birthday is in December! Of course she doesn't know what is December and when is December. Mummy told Iman that Iman's birthday is in December and Iman has been waiting for December! This morning Iman asked Mummy, "lambat lagi ke December?" Ha...ha...ha.... Mummy said "5 more months to go!" but of course Mummy didn't think Iman understands that.

Iman has been saying "Nanti when it is December, many people will come to Iman's house and said Happy Birthday, Iman! And Iman will blow candles on Iman's birthday cake!" When Mummy asked how many candles will be on the cake, Iman said "I don't know!" So, Mummy told Iman that Mummy will put 4 candles on Iman's cake. When asked what kind of cake with it be, Iman said "Snow White cake!" Mummy really hope this year we can get a Snow White cake! Last year we had to settle for Cinderella cake because the cake shop we went to couldn't do a Snow White cake. Mummy should get prepared early this year! Iman has been planning to have streamers all over the house for decorations. All seemed vivid in her imagination on how she wants her birthday to be...

Talking about birthday, we are planning to go for dinner tonight to celebrate Ayah's birthday! Happy Birthday, Ayah! May you have long healthy life! And continue to be a loving father and husband! Iman and Mummy love you!

The saga continues... another serious talk

Last night Ayah asked Iman about having a baby girl. Iman quickly declared that she doesn't want a baby girl. When Ayah asked why Iman doesn't want the baby anymore, Iman answered "tak naklah.. nanti Doctor cut Iman on the tummy and berdarah!" So Ayah quickly explained to Iman that the baby would be in Mummy's tummy... not in Iman's tummy. Iman said "tak naklah.. nanti Mummy sakit! Nanti darah Doctor cut Mummy!" If was so touching to see how considerate Iman is about not wanting to let Mummy go through the pain of childbirth.

Mummy hope Iman will not regret her decision not to have the baby girl as per her original plan.. Mummy seriously think that Iman is now feeling bored not having a friend to play with her at home.

Serious talk with Iman

Last Saturday night, Mummy decided to try and catch Grey's Anatomy, followed by Private Practice on ntv7. Iman was supposed to go to bed with Ayah and watch cartoon in the master bedroom while Mummy watch Mummy's show in the living room. But Iman kept coming out to the living room to spend time with Mummy.

Earlier that day Ayah's cousin - Aunty Yanti came to our house to pick up Iman's old cot. Aunty Yanti is expecting her first child and we thought since there is no plan for an additional child in our family, we might as well give the cot to Aunty Yanti. Iman was OK about giving away her cot and Mummy actually showed Iman Aunty Yanty's tummy and told Iman that Aunty Yanti would be getting a baby soon.

Out of the blue, Iman told Mummy that Iman wants a baby girl. Mummy thought the idea came from all the talk about babies with Aunty Yanti. So Mummy asked Iman, "who's baby girl do you want to take? Is it Teacher Aza's baby? Or is it Aunty Yanti's baby?" Iman said "No... nanti Iman will ask the shopkeeper if there is a baby girl... if ada.. Iman want to take one baby girl." Mummy was surprised how did Iman got the word 'shopkeeper' and where did she get the idea that she can get a baby from the shopkeeper!

Mummy asked Iman, who's going to take care of the baby? Iman curling her arm like holding a baby in her arm, said proudly "Iman lah! Iman will take care of the baby! Iman will telll Mummy to make susu if the baby need susu!" So, Mummy jokingly said... "Oh?! So Mummy have to make the susu?! I thought Iman want to take care of the baby?!" Iman said "Yalah... Mummy make the susu... nanti Iman will suap the susu to the baby girl!". Mummy then asked Iman "who's going to change the pampers if the baby she-she?" Iman answered "Iman lah change the pampers." Ha..ha...ha....We had a nice talk about the imaginary baby girl that Iman is planning to take from the shopkeeper.

Then, all of a sudden, Iman said "Mummy, masa Iman baby (again she curled her arms), Iman duduk dalam Mummy's tummy kan?" So, Mummy answered, "Yes.. you were small... and you were in Mummy's tummy." Iman asked "how Iman come out of Mummy's tummy?" Mummy was shocked with Iman's question. Luckily Mummy went through Caesarian section to deliver Iman, so Mummy just showed Iman the Caesarian scar below Mummy's tummy and told Iman that the doctor cut Mummy there to take Iman out of Mummy's tummy!

Iman asked Mummy "berdarah tak? sakit tak?" Iman seemed so panic to think that Mummy was bleeding away... So Mummy quickly said... "berdarah... but dah baik... see.. no more blood. Sakit sikit aje..." just to sooth her feelings. Iman suddenly declared that she doesn't want the baby girl... "Iman tak naklah.. Iman tak nak kena potong nanti berdarah!"

Mummy decided to drop the matter at that. Somehow Iman thought that if she wants the baby girl.. she is the one who has to deliver that baby girl! Good thing Iman has decided that she doesn't want the baby girl after all...

Iman & the Beanstalk

When Mummy picked Iman up, Iman showed Mummy a container containing a few beanstalk plants in it. The container have Iman's name on it, so Mummy guessed it must have been Iman's workproduct of the school activities.

Once inside the car, Iman started to explain the process of how the beanstalk is grown. Here's Iman's explaination: "First you put some seeds, then you need to put cotton and then pour some water. Allah will allow the beanstalk to grown after we put water and put it in the sun!" Mummy thought it was so funny how Iman's understanding of the process.

Then all of a sudden Iman said "Iman takut giantlah.." Iman thought when the beanstalk grows bigger the giant will be climbing down. Ha..ha..ha... It was so funny. So Mummy quickly just tell Iman that there is no giant on her beanstalk and Iman laughed when she heard that.

Iman's first reunion with all her brothers and sisters

Mummy is so happy when Ayah told Mummy that while Mummy was away in Tasik Kenyir, Iman and Ayah had a get together with all Iman's brothers and sisters! It was so irony to think that during the trip Mummy was actually wondering outloud to Mummy's friends about when would Iman be able to see her brothers and sisters and yet on the same day, Iman was actually been introduced to her brothers and sisters! It was indeed a great day for Ayah and Iman! Mummy is still so happy now for both of them... Wish Mummy was there to witness the whole reunion. Mummy would have taken a lot more pictures of the reunion.

Mummy is so glad to know that Iman was accepted so openly and warmly by her brothers and sisters eventhough it was the first time they met her - for Kakak Aina, Kakak Kirra and Abang Baim. At least Kakak Emma and Abang Wahid had met Iman earlier. The pictures said it all...

When Mummy asked Iman "How many sisters do you have?", Iman said 3! When Mummy asked their names, Iman can say the names so naturally as if Iman knows them all along.. "Kakak Aina, Kakak Kirra and Kakak Emma." And when Mummy asked how many brothers Iman has, Iman said 2! Somehow Iman got a bit confused with the brothers' names. Iman's eldest brother is actually Abang Wahid, but Iman thought Abang Ibrahim is his name.. While her 10-year old brother is Abang Baim, whose actual name is Ibrahim. But for a kid who just met her siblings, Iman is doing quite okay with names. In fact according to Iman she likes Kakak Kirra the best! Looks like the feeling is mutual.. The pictures showed that Kakak Kirra is somehow the most drawn to Iman...

Alhamdulillah for this little reunion.. Hope they all can meet again some days in future.. Mummy's wish to have Iman knows her siblings is finally granted... Thank you Allah for this little blessings...

Iman and Her New Bed

Iman claimed that she is not a baby anymore and doesn't want to sleep in the cot. So, Mummy and Ayah decided to get a more grown-up bed for Iman. We went to Ikea and found the right one for her. We thought with the nice bed and the nice bedsheet and all, Iman would found it appealing to sleep on that bed...

Unfortunately Iman is still sleeping in between Mummy and Ayah in our bed and Iman's bed is just for decoration and for Iman to lie down on while watching her VCDs. Mummy and Ayah are still looking forward to the day when Iman finally decided to sleep by herself on her own bed. Still waiting....

Stop Talking About Lintah!

The morning after Mummy came back from the Alumni Dinner, after we had breakfast, we went to Bukit Bintang area to drop off Ayah to get his "lintah" treatment. When we arrived Master Ee, the 'lintah' business owner has not arrived. Mummy sat with Iman at the bus stop watching the world go by... we saw the buses, the monorail trains - one is green and another one yellow. Iman was rather excited because it was her first time sitting by the roadside in the middle of the city!

We went upstairs where the treatment was to be done. It was quite a nice set-up. They also provide reflexology service.

Ayah was asked to lie down on a bed and Master Ee brought in the bucket with the leeches in it. Mummy wanted to wait around and see how the treatment was done before going with Iman to Nenek's house. But Iman was so traumatic when she saw one of the leeches started to climb up the bucket and tried to get out of the bucket. When Mummy hugged Iman after Iman started to cry, Mummy could feel Iman trembling and the heart was beating really fast!!

Mummy managed to take some pictures of the leeches and had to leave the camera to Ayah so that he could capture the pictures during the treatment.

When Mummy went to Nenek's house and was telling Nenek about the treatment, Iman started to scream "Stop talking about lintah!". Then when Mummy got calls from Cik Han and then from Cik Na all asking about the 'lintah' treatment, Iman kept on screaming "Stop talking about lintah!" Apparently Iman was so traumatic about it. When Iman saw Ayah's foot still bleeding in the evening after the treatment, Iman was worried that Ayah actually brought back the leeches with him. Iman was so scared to even go into the bathroom that Ayah was in.

When Ayah's blood dripped on the floor, Iman scolded Ayah "Ayah, you have to sit still and not move around! Nanti spill the red thing on the floor!" Mummy and Ayah couldn't stop laughing when we heard that. Iman sometimes acts too old for her age.

Mummy's Alumni Dinner

This year 2008 - Mummy's school, Sekolah Seri Puteri Kuala Lumpur, initally was known as Sekolah Menengah Jalan Kolam Ayer, is celebrating it's 40th Anniversary. The Alumni has organized to celebrate it with a big bang.

The Fabulous 40 Gala Dinner was held in Grand Ballroom, Rennaisance Hotel, Jalan Ampang on 28 June 2008. With Ayah's blessing Mummy has gone for the dinner and slept over in the hotel with Aunty Ze after the dinner. Mummy sent the MMS of Mummy in the dinner dress to Ayah and when Ayah showed the picture to Iman, Iman said "my mummy is so cantik!". Mummy was so touched by Iman's words...

Here's some pictures of the dinner.

After the dinner, Mummy found out from Ayah that Iman was still not sleeping at 11:30 p.m. because Iman wanted to watch Aladdin. And Ayah actually allowed Iman to stay up till 12:30 a.m.!! Just to let Iman finished watching Aladdin. Well.. it's a weekend night.. guess it was ok.

Trip to Deer Park

31 May 2008

Iman went with Achik, Uncle Shuk, Abang Amir, Arissa, Akif and Anas to Deer Park when Mummy and Ayah went for our date to see P.Ramlee The Musical.

Mummy just got the pictures from Achik. It was great to see Iman so brave feeding the deer. Mummy felt bad that Mummy was not there to witness Iman's bravery. Glad Achik took quite a lot of pictures of Iman during that trip.

Iman @ Aidan's 4th Birthday Party

Aidan, Iman's cousin, turned 4 on 14 June, but the birthday celebration was held on 21 June @ McD Sri Damansara. We all went to celebrate too. The funny thing is that Aidan doesn't like the birthday song! He thinks it is too noisy... so every year he would cry when people sing the birthday song. This year before he cried, he was closing his ears so that he couldn't hear the song.. but in the end he cried anyway...

Iman was enjoying herself with the rest of her cousins - Akif, Arissa and Amir, but kept on being annoyed at Anas for being a baby.

Iman @ Bella Vista's Playground

Iman has been asking to go to Bella Vista to play with her cousin, Arissa. We finally went yesterday to visit Nenek and at the same time let Iman play with Arissa. Iman really had a nice time trying out her new scooter outdoor and let Arissa and Akif also try her scooter. Mummy was really glad to see that Iman was willing to share her toys with her cousins.

A Tribute to Ayah

Ayah, Happy Father's Day! Iman has been wishing Ayah "Happy Ayah's Day!" for the last few days. It must have been because the activities in Young Ambassadors this week are related to preparation of Father's Day cards for the fathers. In fact Iman has brought home the card and put it all over the place. That's how kids are.. You can't really make them understand the concept of keeping secretst and surprising someone later. Iman was just too excited to show Ayah the card that she can't wait for the real day! It happened that way too during Mother's Day!

Mummy want to take this opportunity to give a tribute to Ayah for being a great Ayah to Iman and a great husband to Mummy. When Ayah had the gout attack for a few days last week, Mummy realised how much of chores daily that Ayah had been sharing with Mummy. Only when Ayah was not able to do them and Mummy had to do them by myself, then only Mummy noticed how much had been done by Ayah to lessen Mummy's burden.

When Mummy arrived home from work, usually Ayah would entertained Iman and assist to wash when Iman poo-pooed, then help to bath her and take things for her. In the morning Ayah would bath Iman while Mummy get Iman's stuff ready for school and then send Iman to school. With Ayah not able to move much, having to do all those was really really tiring.

Mummy really really appreciate Ayah now... Thanks, Ayah for all your help! Mummy is so lucky to have a very helpful, caring and sporting husband like Ayah! Happy Father's Day!

Ayah sakit kaki

Today Iman woke up and first thing Iman did was look for Ayah! Then Iman asked "Ayah sakit lagi ke? Esok baiklah.." Ayah said "InsyaAllah..." hoping that Iman's wish will come true. Ayah sakit means Iman can't play with Ayah, and can't be sent to school by Ayah. Mummy guess that's why Iman really wants Ayah to be well.

Already missing the chat during our drive to school

Tomorrow Young Ambassadors is opened and Iman would be going there. Goodbye to Teacher Asnah's school till the next school holidays. In a way Mummy is relieved that Iman is back to Young Ambassadors since it is closer to home. No need to drive all the way to Wangsa Melawati to drop Iman at Teacher Asnah's school (which will cost more now that fuel price has increased!). And then Mummy had to park somewhere either in Wangsa Maju Section 1 (near Alpha Angle) or in Desa Setapak so that it would be easier in the evening to pick Iman up. All those change of Mummy's normal routine sometimes upset Mummy.

The good thing about the long drive to Wangsa Melawati was it gave Mummy an opportunity to chat with Iman on the way to school and on the way back from school. Mummy found that Mummy could get a lot of input from Iman during those trips. Mummy is now feeling that Mummy is going to miss the long drive...

There was one day when we were driving back from school and it started to rain. Iman commented that the rain is good for the plants and the animals because they need water to drink so that plants can have move leaves and animals can drink and 'mandi'! Once a upon a time, Iman would be so upset whenever it rains because that would means no cartoon! The Astro would not get the service and there would be no cartoons! It was always devastating for Iman then. Alhamdulillah when we explained about how important rain is to plants and animals and that we could always watch the CDs if it rains, Iman had been at peace with the idea of rain.

On another day when we were driving back, Iman commented that there is no moon because it is day time and the moon would only appear after the sunset. Mummy felt that all those talks we had about the science and all will be reduced since the ride from Young Ambassadors back to Sri Ayu is only 3 minutes!

Mummy must now try to slot in the chat time during the cooking or watching tv slot. "Hendak seribu daya, tak hendak seribu dalih..." You will learn this expression later on, Iman. For now Mummy just want to make sure we continue to communicate. It has been a precious thing to Mummy to be able to be there for Iman to ask and to share your thoughts. Mummy hope we will continue to communicate forever and ever.

Ibrahim... like my abang!

Iman saw the picture of Baim (nickname for Ibrahim) from Ayah's handphone and asked Mummy who it is. Mummy told Iman "That's Ibrahim, your brother." Iman was so excited! "Yeah! My abang!" That's what Iman said. Mummy was glad the information about having an older brother she has never met was received so happily and willingly by Iman.

Then Iman continued to scroll the pictures in Ayah's handphone and saw the picture of Aina - Iman's older sister. Iman asked Mummy who she is. Mummy said "That's Aina, your sister." Again Iman was excited with the idea of having an older sister. She said "Hurray! My kakak!"

That was the only time Mummy mentioned about Ibrahim and Aina. Mummy just don't know how to explain something like this to a 3 plus year old when Mummy don't know when would Iman be able to see them. If ever she gets to see them.

Today as Iman was going into the bathroom to take shower, Iman heard the name Ibrahim being mentioned on TV. Iman looked up at Mummy and said "like my abang!" Mummy was quite surprised that after only one time Mummy mentioned Iman's brother's name - Ibrahim, whom Iman has never met up till today, Iman actually can relate the name Ibrahim to her brother! It is so amazing at what kind of information Iman is capturing and keeping in her brain! That information has such a big impact on Iman that when she heard the name Ibrahim, her brain went to relate the name to her brother!

Iman's Last Day in Teacher Asnah's School

On the last day of her stay in Teacher Asnah's school, Iman told Mummy that she wants to wear baju kurung as Teacher Asnah asked her to do so. Mummy wanted Iman to wear her blue baju kurung for the last hari raya but Iman chose to wear the orange baju kurung from the previous year's raya. Look at how much Iman has grown!! The kain of the baju kurung was so 'senteng' while the baju kurung seemed to be still ok with Iman. She has grown tall!!

Ice-cream cloud

This morning as Mummy was driving Iman to school, Iman suddenly said "Look Mummy!! Picture of ice-cream!" Mummy tried looking around to find what picture Iman was referring to. Mummy asked "where is it, Iman?". Iman said "There! Look at the clouds! It looks like ice-cream! Ice-cream cloud!" Mummy couldn't help but laughed at Iman's expression. It is so amazing what a child can see within the cloud! Mummy suddenly started to look at the clouds and realised that we, adult, tend to not take notice of things around us because we were just too busy to see anything. Thanks, Iman for reminding Mummy to take time to see the clouds...

Barney - Mr Knickerbocker

Another one of Iman's favourite song lately..

Hey, Mr. Knickerbocker, bobbity bop!
I like the way that you bobbity bop,

Hey, Mr. Knickerbocker, bobbity bop!
I like the way that you bobbity bop,

Hey, Mr. Knickerbocker, bobbity bop!
I like the way that you bobbity bop,

Hey, Mr. Knickerbocker, bobbity bop!
I like the way that you bobbity bop,

Hey, Mr. Knickerbocker, bobbity bop!
I like the way that you bobbity bop,

Iman and Her New Roller-Skate

After buying a scooter, a set of safety gadgets for Iman on Sunday, Mummy got a voucher for RM50 from Toys R Us. Since Iman has been asking for a roller-skate, Mummy thot might as well get for her the roller-skate. Mummy just need to top up RM14.95 for the roller-skate!

So, that was how Iman suddenly ended up with a roller-skate! Glad Mummy bought it yesterday coz it cheered Iman up and got her mind off the idea of Ayah being away on business trip. Mummy's heart just swelled to see Iman posing with the roller-skate. Iman really looked like a big girl!! We must go to the park this weekend so that Iman can have the roller-skating experience soon.

That's where I belong...

This week is still school holiday, so as Mummy was sending Iman to Teacher Asnah's school (Iman's temporary school during every school holidays), Mummy explained to Iman that she still has to go to Teacher Asnah's school. She said, "Ok." When Mummy said "next week when the school opens you can go back to Young Ambassadors." At this time, Iman said "Hurray!! That's where I belong. That's where my friends Aiman, Anas, Aqil, Farhan and Didi are." Mummy was amazed that Iman actually knows about sense of belonging at this age. So Mummy just said, "Yeah.. that's where you belong." And Iman was smilling away, thinking of her friends. Mummy realised that Iman is missing her friends.

When Mummy told Aunty Bee about what Iman said, Aunty Bee said she was surprised. Mummy said "what are you surprised about?" Aunty Bee said she was surprised that Iman was so matured in her expression. Mummy couldn't help but agree with her.

A shopping spree for Iman

We got a brochure from Toys R Us on the upcoming sale. Iman was going through the brochure and showed Mummy what Iman wants Mummy to buy! The list was growing very long.. But Mummy had shortlisted some items Mummy wanted to buy for Iman. When we were in the car to go to Mid Valley, Iman kept reminding Mummy that Mummy is supposed to buy a scooter for Iman. Mummy told Iman that if Iman continues to be a good khalifah, Mummy would buy the scooter!

Since we were already there, Mummy and Ayah decided to give in to Iman and got her the scooter. But Mummy was concerned about the safety when she started to go on the scooter, so we got a set of safety gadgets too - the helmet, knees guard and elbow guards. Iman was so happy to get all those!

When were arrived home Iman couldn't wait to put on all those gadgets and try on the scooter too. Iman said "I think today is my lucky day!" and Mummy told Iman that indeed it was her lucky day to get all those things from Mummy and Ayah.

Mummy's and Ayah's Date Without Iman

Mummy have booked the Matinee tickets for P.Ramlee Musical on 31 May 2008 for Mummy and Ayah. The plan was, Iman would have to stay either with Nenek or Achik for the few hours. The day came and Achik invited Iman to join her cousins who were going to the Deer Park. Mummy went to send Iman to Achik's house by 11 a.m. and waited till they were ready to leave for the Deer Park. It was great to see Iman acting so grown up and could just go with her cousins.

Mummy dropped by at Nenek's house for a while then went home to get ready for the matinee show. It felt quite weird being at home without Iman around. Mummy realised how lucky Mummy is being given Iman as the gift for Mummy and Ayah to have around.. Mummy hope Iman knows how loved Iman is by both of us... Can u feel the love? I really hope you do, Iman!

The P.Ramlee Musical show was really really great! Mummy being someone who didn't know much about the lives of P.Ramlee had a very interesting history lesson. The casts were great! Musly Ramlee was really really talented and for many moments Mummy forgot that Mummy was watching the clone... not the real P.Ramlee!

Mummy's 43rd Birthday

This year Mummy turned 43! On 29th of May, which was Mummy's birthday, Mummy had to attend the last day of 3-day training. In the morning, just before Mummy left, Iman wished Mummy "Happy Birthday, Mummy!" Then Iman said "Mummy, nanti Mummy beli present!" So Mummy asked, "for sapa? Iman ke?" Iman said "No! For Mummy lah.. coz Iman tak buy present for Mummy lagi." Mummy thought that was so sweet of Iman...

Went to the training and MfQ Management actually surprised us by bringing a cake for us during the evening tea-break. How sweet.. so Mummy actually got a birthday cake on Mummy's birthday.

When Mummy went back to work on Friday, 30th May, Mummy was surprised with a celebration in SEBS. Mummy thought since Mummy had missed the celebration SEBS (Mummy's company) had organized for May babies, Mummy had just missed it. But to Mummy's pleasant surprise, they actually organized another celebration for Mummy. Here's some photos from the office celebration:

Mummy also got a card from Iman, which was created by Ayah. It was great of Ayah to think of doing that.

Then Mummy had to rush out to meet up Aunty Rose, Aunty Zailin and Aunty Ikma in KLCC for lunch. We had another celebration! With gifts too! Then Aunty Mastura came along and Mummy got a present from Aunty Mas too! When Mummy arrived back at the office, a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolate was waiting for Mummy from Aunty Za! What a pleasant surprise again! Somehow this particular year, Mummy's birthday was celebrated the most!

A few days after that Aunty Bee came and dropped a present at the door. It was a lighthouse wall decorative item! Mummy just loved it. As Mummy expected, Ayah was quite upset to have another lighthouse gift he had to live with. He..he..he...

Mummy felt so blessed with so many friends....

THE RAINDROP SONG

Iman's latest favourite song from Barney series.

If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops, oh what a rain it would be.
Standing outside with my mouth open wide.
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops, oh what a rain that would be.

If all the snowflakes were candy bars and milk shakes, oh what a snow that would be.
Standing outside with my mouth open wide.
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
If all the snowflakes were candy bars and milkshakes, oh what a snow that would be.

If all the sun beams were bubble gum and ice cream, oh what a sun that would be.
Standing outside with my mouth open wide.
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
If all the sun beams were bubble gum and ice cream, oh what a sun that would be!

Girls being girls...

Iman is a good girl... She can play by herself. She is now into cooking game.

Here's some photos of her playing by herself while watching Bee Movie. Can see any scars of chickenpox on her? Not really eh?
