Barbie: Mariposa and Her Butterfly Fairy Friends

We went to Mid Valley on Sunday 23rd March. As we were passing Speedy Video Shop, Iman saw the preview of Mariposa on the store screen. It was like a magnet! Iman straight away said that she wants that CD! Mummy didn't want to buy it because Mummy didn't think it is suitable for kids her age.

But we went inside anyway and Mummy asked Iman to choose any CD she wants. It took Iman almost half hour to decide which CD she wants. She took one then put it back and choose another one. The choice was from Barney to Mickey to Banana in Pyjama to Barney again.. Somehow nothing really appeals to her afer seeing Mariposa!

Reluctantly Mummy finally suggested Mariposa and you should see how Iman's face just glowed! It has been her choice from the beginning but because Mummy said no.. she had no choice but to give up her wish to buy that CD. With Mummy's blessing to buy the CD, Iman quickly took the CD to Ayah to pay for it. She was so happy!!

Synopsis:

Join Barbie in an all-new world of Butterfly Fairies! Mariposa is a beautiful butterfly fairy who loves to read and dream about the world outside her home in the land of Flutterfield. Flutterfield is protected by the Queen's glimmering magical flower lights, but when the Queen is poisoned by the evil fairy Henna, the special lights begin to go out one by one. It's up to the brave Mariposa and her friends to journey beyond the safe borders of the city in search of a hidden antidote that will save the Queen. Join the butterfly fairy friends on an exciting adventure that will transform them forever!

Iman has been watching Mariposa everyday twice or three times in a day since we bought it! At first Mummy didn't think that Iman could understand the storyline coz this movie is meant for older group of kids. But Mummy was dead wrong.

Iman actually understands the storyline very well. Iman told Mummy that Prince Carlos loves Mariposa and he wants to marry Mariposa! Mummy was so surprise to hear that coming from a 3 years and 3 months old kid!

When Mummy finally decided to spend some time to watch the movie with Iman, Mummy discovered that the movie is actually not bad at all. It has very deep message, maybe too deep for Iman at this age, but Mummy is confident that eventually Iman will be able to learn the lesson that comes with the movie.

Trip to Zoo Negara

Iman's school, Young Ambassadors had organized a trip to Zoo Negara again. It was Iman's second trip to the Zoo and since she is already in the 4-yr-old group, she didn't need to be chaperoned. But somehow Mummy didn't want to miss out the fun time at the Zoo with Iman, so Mummy requested to be allowed to go with them. Since there are many kids in Young Ambassadors this year, the chaperones couldn't go in the school bus with the kids. Mummy and Mia's nenek took a ride with Aiman El-Muzaffar's mum to go to the Zoo.

Mummy was so proud to see Iman holding hands with Arissa in the Zoo compound. Mummy's baby is so independent already and could go with her friends. Mummy had a mixture of emotion watching Iman's independence - proud but at the same time a bit sad having to let go of Iman to start soaring by herself.

Sand Art

During the Maulidur Rasul event, one of the items in the Party Pack was a sand art kit. Iman got the one with Snow White picture! Talk about luck! It's Iman's favourite! Mummy had to help Iman out to do the sand art. It was so difficult for Mummy who didn't have the opportunity to do any sand art before quite recently! In fact this particular one was Mummy's second attempt at sand art!

Look at the outcome of the effort! Not too bad but not too good either.. Mummy promised Iman that Mummy would buy some more sand art kits so that we could practise.

Mummy was thinking how different the kids nowadays.. in Mummy's days as kids we didn't have so many things. Mummy hope Iman realised how lucky you are to have all these things now. Remember to always be thankful for all the things you have and remember those kids that don't have half the things you have.

Jasmin Amina lost her mum

Mummy just found out on the Maulidur Rasul day that Jasmin Amina - Iman's 5-year old friend in Young Ambassadors, lost her mum due to cancer some time last October. Instantly Mummy felt a lump in Mummy's throat and tears in Mummy's eyes and an ache in Mummy's heart. It is so sad to think that Jasmin Amina has lost her mum at such a young age. Mummy wished Mummy had known it at the beginning of the event coz Mummy would have given Jasmin Amina a big hug when Mummy saw her in the morning. Mummy made a promise that Mummy will hug her everytime Mummy see her next time coz she definitely missed her mum's hugs.

That night of the Maulidur Rasul Mummy told Iman that Jasmin Amina's mum 'dah meninggal'. Since Iman has understood the meaning of the word 'meninggal', Iman quickly said 'Iman ada Mummy lag!i' and gave Mummy a tight hug. Mummy was so touched and sad thinking of Iman's fate if Iman has to lose Mummy. All the kids that lost their mums came to Mummy's mind. Mummy wish Mummy can give all of them a hug each.

Mummy made a dua that Mummy and Ayah will have a long live so that both of us can take care and always be around for Iman. Of course Mummy made dua that Iman will have a long, great, healthy and beautiful live too. Ameen..

May Allah bless arwah Dahlia Sulaiman - Jasmin Amina's mum. Al-Fatihah.

Lipstick

Iman is so girlish that even at 3 years 2 months plus, she is already so hung up on wanting to look pretty. Iman has been asking Mummy to buy a lipstick. Everytime we went shopping, Iman has been nagging for a lipstick. So today when Mummy went to Watson to buy something, Mummy decided to buy for Iman a pink lip balm.

When Iman found it Iman was so excited. However when Iman put it on her lips, she was rather disappointed because it was not as red as Mummy's lipstick. So Iman kept on put more and more but it was still not as red as Mummy's! Iman started to grumble 'Tak red pun? Tak macam Mummy pun!' it was so funny to see Iman's expression. Mummy explained that Mummy is a big girl that's why Mummy can wear red lipstick, but Iman is a little girl, so Iman has to wear pink lipstick. That explaination made Iman more upset coz Iman insisted that she is a big girl! Iman is so in a hurry to grow up.

Now Iman has misplaced the 'lipstick' and Mummy don't know where Iman has kept it. No more lipstick for Iman.

Maulidur Rasul 2008

Mummy has been involved with the Maulidur Rasul Organizing Committee since Feb 2008. This is Mummy's second time to be involved and it is great to participate with the other parents to organize this event. It was quite taxing to juggle being a working Mummy, being Iman's Mummy and a wife andbeing the Chairman of the Organizing Committe and!

Here's the pictures taken during the preparation and the event day itself.

Iman did well ... at first was crying and didn't want to join the other kids preparing for the nasyid. But after a few minutes with her friends when Mummy let Iman cried with Teacher Aza, Iman turned out so good and performed very well. Mummy was very proud of Iman and Mummy told Iman that!!

Here's the performance of Young Ambassadors' kids during the Maulidur Rasul on 20 Mac 2008:

Here's Mummy's Committee Members (the great team) and the Teachers of Young Ambassadors after the event.

Last row (Left to Right) - Suraya, Zara, Teacher ??, Azlinah, Teacher Mazni, Norlizma, Mummy, Asmarani, Teacher Ira, Teacher Zarida, Junizam.

First row (Left to Right) - Rashidah, Kartina, Teacher Aza, Teacher Yasmin, Teacher Fatimah, Raskidah, Haslina.

All in all it was a great event!

Iman tak tall lagi...

Lately Iman has been so obsessed with the need to be big and tall. Mummy don't really know what is the reason for this obsession. Everytime after Iman ate her meals, she would quickly run to the room and stood on the bed and looked at herself in the mirror. Then disappointedly she will declare that she is still not tall! She has been eating so much more than usual lately because she thought that would get her to be taller, faster!
It was quite funny to see how frustrated she looked when she noticed that she is still shorter than Mummy... Mummy need to explain to her in a more comprehensible manner that she will not be taller than Mummy in another 12 years of so!

Mummy's and Ayah's 6th Wedding Anniversary

14 March 2006.

6 years ago, on 17th Jan 2002, Ayah saw Mummy for the first time at Yosh's Cafe. That was the first time we talked to each other. Then on 16th Feb 2002, Ayah asked Mummy to marry him. Mummy and Ayah got marreid on 14th March 2002!
It was Mummy's and Ayah's 6th Wedding Anniversary. Mummy decided that we all should do something special rather than just stay at home and celebrate it like a regular day. So, Mummy booked a junior suite in Berjaya Times Square Hotel.

Here's the pictures taken in the suite.

We went for a walk in the Berjaya Times Square Shopping Complex and saw the art gallery of work of Korean Artists. There were many beautiful artwork, but Mummy took mostly the animal pictures for Iman's sake.

Iman @ Playschool Daycare for the School Holidays

Today is the first term school holiday of 2008. As usual, Young Ambassadors is closed and Iman has to go somewhere during the day while Mummy and Ayah go to work. The idea of going to Taska still brought tears to Iman's eyes. It was very stressful for Mummy to think of where to send Iman to during the school holidays.

Today Iman starts her school holiday in Teacher Asnah's Playschool Daycare Centre in Wangsa Melawati. Eventhough Nurin is there and later joined by Arissa, who are Iman's best friends in Young Ambassadors, Iman didn't want Mummy to leave. In fact when Mummy crept out quietly, Mummy could hear Iman cried as soon as Iman realised that Mummy had left. For a moment Mummy thought of not driving off but to take Iman home! Luckily Mummy braced myself and decided to leave Iman. Within less than 10 minutes, when Mummy called Teacher Asnah, Iman was already ok. Phew!!

Mummy called Teacher Asnah at about 3 pm just now to just check on Iman. Found out that Iman, Nurin and Arissa were so excited with the new place and the new toys that they have not taken their naps yet! Teacher Asnah said that all 3 of them had a very good lunch! All of them finished their buttered rice with beef staganoff!

Who do u love?

Iman has a new question she would ask Mummy every few minutes. Mummy love sapa? When Mummy aswered, 'Mummy love Iman.', Iman will then ask 'Mummy tak love Ayah ke?'. Mummy would have to make sure Mummy always answer 'Mummy love Iman and Ayah.'

Whenever Mummy don't have a smile on Mummy's face because Mummy is upset with Iman for being naughty or being stubborn, Iman will ask Mummy, 'Tak love Iman ke?'. In fact nowadays Iman has threatened Mummy that Iman wants to run away to her friend's house because felt that Mummy don't love Iman anymore whenever Mummy scolded Iman. In a way it was quite funny to see Iman being so sensitive like that but in another way Mummy is worried that Iman is just too sensitive.

Iman, Mummy love you and Ayah very very much. Please don't run away, ok? Mummy scolded Iman because Mummy want Iman to be a good person, a good kalifah and a good dauughter.

A new trick

Ayah has invented a new trick to get Iman to do things according to our schedule instead of hers. Ayah capitalizes on Iman's competitive nature to come up with this new trick.

Iman learnt about being a leader in school. She always wants to be a leader, be it going up the stairs to go home or the first to take bath.

So everytime we wanted Iman to take bath nowadays it has become so much easier. We just declared that we would like to be the leader to take bath and Iman would quickly decide that she wants to be the leader and would start to take off her cloths eventhough just minutes ago when Mummy asked Iman to take bath, she said 'Iman tak nak take bath lagi...'

Thank God for this new trick Ayah came up with. Somehow it is quite surprising that Ayah can come up with such trick, but it is a great one. So Mummy have to give the credit to Ayah. No more shouting and getting angry to get Iman to do things according to our timetable. Thank you, Ayah! Great idea!
