I have to qualify that this blog was started to document my feelings about having a child. So naturally it will be about her... my Iman. I am documenting anything and everything about Iman and my feelings towards her during each of the event so that Iman can read all about her growing up years. And also so that Iman can understand my exact feeling during each of the event and be reminded how much she is loved.. long after I am no longer here in this world.

Mummy's and Ayah's Date Without Iman

Mummy's 43rd Birthday
Mummy also got a card from Iman, which was created by Ayah. It was great of Ayah to think of doing that.
Then Mummy had to rush out to meet up Aunty Rose, Aunty Zailin and Aunty Ikma in KLCC for lunch. We had another celebration! With gifts too! Then Aunty Mastura came along and Mummy got a present from Aunty Mas too! When Mummy arrived back at the office, a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolate was waiting for Mummy from Aunty Za! What a pleasant surprise again! Somehow this particular year, Mummy's birthday was celebrated the most!
A few days after that Aunty Bee came and dropped a present at the door. It was a lighthouse wall decorative item! Mummy just loved it. As Mummy expected, Ayah was quite upset to have another lighthouse gift he had to live with. He..he..he...

THE RAINDROP SONG
If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops, oh what a rain it would be.
Standing outside with my mouth open wide.
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops, oh what a rain that would be.
If all the snowflakes were candy bars and milk shakes, oh what a snow that would be.
Standing outside with my mouth open wide.
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
If all the snowflakes were candy bars and milkshakes, oh what a snow that would be.
If all the sun beams were bubble gum and ice cream, oh what a sun that would be.
Standing outside with my mouth open wide.
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
If all the sun beams were bubble gum and ice cream, oh what a sun that would be!
Girls being girls...
Here's some photos of her playing by herself while watching Bee Movie. Can see any scars of chickenpox on her? Not really eh?

Chickenpox
Then the invitable happened! We were having a very lazy Wesak Day holiday. Auntie Bee came for a tea and asked what happen to Iman's face when she saw a few red spots. Mummy didn't realise that was started to get concerned. That night Mummy noticed that the red spots had become blisters and had a bad feeling in Mummy's tummy that Iman had been infected by chickenpox.
The next morning, more spots were visible. Both Mummy and Ayah turned on the notebook and started to search for information on chickenpox. Then Mummy made an appointment to see Iman's Peadiatrician. Iman was so excited to go to Naluri because she remembers the slide and swing outside the clinic. We went to see Dr. Khairul and he confirmed that it was chickenpox and gave us some antibiotics and antiviral cream which cost us RM198!! What an expensive medicine! What the heck! For Iman's sake we are always willing to do anything.
Iman was so active for a sick child! Mummy was getting so tired having to play endlessly with Iman in between doing office work (on the phone and on YM to check things with Mummy's colleagues).
Here's some shots of Iman with her mild chickenpox:

In Bella Vista's park
Here's some photos taken during the trip:
Iman was so obsessed with the flowers in the park. Iman was more interested to pick up the "Bunga Kemboja Maroon". But all the flowers that dropped to the ground are very lifeless and not so beautiful. Mummy told Iman not to pick those flowers coz they were not nice. Mummy was surprised with Iman's suggestion. She said "Mummy, you shake the tree so that the flowers will drop to the ground." Mummy didn't think Iman would have such idea but she did! Quite innovative for a child that age. Not bad at all!!
Of course Mummy didn't want to shake the tree. But when Iman suggested that to Tok Ayah, he actually entertained Iman and shook the tree. Iman happily picked up the flowers that were in better state than the ones that were already fallen on the ground. Thank God for Tok Ayah, kan, Iman?

Iman's First Cencaru Experience
The funny thing about this Ikan Cencaru, when Mummy was growing up in Sekolah Seri Puteri, that was the fish that Mummy and friends really really really hated! Ask anybody who had been to boarding school what's their nightmare in terms of boarding school food and everybody would say "Ikan Cencaru" dinner! Ha..ha..ha...
Somehow over the years Mummy had managed to get over the hatred towards Ikan Cencaru and now Ikan Cencaru had become a fish of choice for Mummy and Ayah. And of course the recipe to cook this Ikan Cencaru is "Sambal Sumbat Belakang".
Mummy is glad that Iman is now accepting Ikan Cencaru as Iman's fish of choice too.

Leaving Phuket
After lunch, we went to solat at the airport's surau. The surau was huge and clean and well equipped. All the 'wakaf telekung' were really really clean.
Some photos of the scenery in the airport :
AirAsia changed the gate and made the wrong announcement that we ended up continuing to sit in the boarding hall while the rest of the people were alreading boarding the plane. We finally realised that we were among the last few people left in front of the wrong gate and had to rush to board the plane. Luckily the plane was not parked so far away as what usually happened in LCCT. We ended up having to sit quite far behind... not our usual seats and that made Ayah quite angry with AirAsia...
Still took some photos in the flight back to KL:
Last Day in Phuket
We just walked around in Phuket Square. Nothing to Mummy's and Ayah's interest to buy from there. Iman found a pink sunglasses that she liked and some 'getah ikat rambut' and asked Mummy to buy. The pink sunglasses was 39 Baht which is RM3.90! So, Mummy just bought it and Iman happily put them on!
We bought some cashew nuts for ourselves and to bring back as souvenir. We then walked back from Phuket Square to the hotel.
After we came back from the trip to Phuket Square we decided to just stay in the lobby for a while to rest. Iman said "dalam room pun ada air-con... jomlah naik bilik.." We thought it was quite funny to hear her said that.
Managed to take some photos in the lobby:

Iman & Photography in Phuket
Central Festival Shopping Complex
Here's some pictures of the trip to the Central:
We tried to find some halal food in the mall and was shown one halal stall in the Food Court. However by the time we got to the stall the food was finished and we couldn't order anything there. We tried to find another halal restaurant in the mall and couldn't find a single one other than that one in the food court. So we decided to leave the mall and find a halal restaurant somewhere else. Luckily Uncle Mokhtar can speak Thai, so he had been our translator all throughout the journey. Our Tuk-Tuk got a flat tyre so Uncle Mokhtar managed to get another Tuk-Tuk and this time the driver was a lady! She brought us to a Muslim area far away from the town and we had our dinner there.
Phuket Zoo
Some pictures while we were in the zoo.
Here's some pictures taken during the Elephant Show. During this time Mummy's camera was already running out of battery.. still managed to take a few photos with the 'nyawa-nyawa ikan' level of battery.
Promthep Cape
We stopped and started to climb up the staircase. The driver told us that to the right is the view point and to the left was lighthouse. With much anticipation, Mummy climbed up the staircase to see the scenery from the view point first... Had some pictures of the view point...
When Mummy saw the lighthouse of Promthep Cape, Mummy was rather disappointed. It was not what Mummy expected but then again.. it was using the local element.. so Mummy should be complaining about their lighthouse eh?!
Here's the pictures of the lighthouse:
Karon View Point
Karon Beach and Kata Beach
Here's some pictures of the Karon Beach:
We drove on towards Kata Beach. Kata Beach was much nicer than Patong Beach. The van stopped behind Club Med area. Club Med's compound was really nice and green. We really love it! We talked about staying in Club Med during our next trip. Mummy googled Club Med to find the rates and with much difficulty found that the rate is about 160 - 180 USD!! Wow!! There goes our plan to stay in Club Med. He..he..he..
Here's the photos of Kata Beach:
Outing to Patong Beach
It was a very wet morning! It was quite frustrating at first. Our original plan was to go to Phuket Zoo first then only towards the beach. With the pouring rain, we decided to drive towards to beaches first. Hopefully by the time we got to the Phuket Zoo, the rain has stopped. It was definitely a good plan coz as we were driving towards Patong Beach, which was only 17km from the city, it got drier and drier!
We reached Patong Beach town before we got to see the Patong Beach itself. The devastation of the tsunami was not apparent anymore. Mummy found that Mummy would have preferred to be in Patong Beach area than the city. So we decided that if we were to come to Phuket again, we would stay in Patong Beach during our next visit. The Patong town was more bubbly with the presence of tourists compared to the city. There were so many restaurants and pubs and hotels all over town. There was a new Shopping Complex, built after the tsunami, but we didn't have time to stop. Just managed to take photos from the van. We stopped slightly longer at the beach for photo shoots. Luckily the rain has stopped by then... but there were no tourist at the beach since it was still quite wet after the morning rain.
Here's some photos taken from the city to Patong and in Patong Beach itself:

Our First Dinner Outing in Phuket
Uncle Azam told everybody to memorize the plate number of the Tuk Tuk coz he wanted to buy that particular Tuk Tuk if they got to do the project in Phuket! Look at the picture of the Tuk-Tuk... somehow the plate number was fluorescing in the picture so that we could see the number clearly... irony and weird!
We went to Phuket Bay to have a seafood dinner. Here's some photos taken around the outdoor restaurant while waiting for the dinner and during dinner.
Our hotel in Phuket
Here are some photos of the views taken from our room.
Iman's & Mummy's First Flight without Ayah
Mummy couldn't sleep very well the night before our first trip without Ayah. So many things had to be done!
- Packing - both Mummy's and Iman's stuff to strictly be fit into 1 small bag. Quite a challenge since there were so many things to be carried with us:
- Clothing for 3 days 2 nights for Mummy and Iman
- Extra pair of slippers for Iman - Mummy sacrificed by wearing only 1 pair of flat shoes and not bringing an extra pair of Mummy's
- Iman's Milo & Milk & Extra bottle
- Iman's Portable DVD Player
- Iman's collection of DVDs and VCDs - a whole book!
- Universal adapters for all sorts of gadgets - hand phones chargers, DVD
players, Camera charger - Locking every doors and windows.
- Switching off every electrical equipments - in the end Mummy forgot to switch off the main water supply.
- Switching off the gas for both cookers.
After all of the above done, got Iman to get ready and we finally left the house by about 9:15 a.m. Send message to Ayah to inform that Mummy and Iman were all ready and that we would see Ayah after 5 p.m. in Phuket when Ayah would be done with work.
We went to Ayah's office to pick up Along (Iman's cousin) who would be sending us to LCCT and would bring back Mummy's car to be parked in Ayah's office compound. We arrived in LCCT just before 11 a.m. for the 12:45 flight. Just in time to check in as the counter was just opened anyway. So far so good...
Since Iman has not had anything yet that morning, when Iman asked for McD's ice-cream, Mummy just quickly obliged. We sat on the metal pole outside McD to eat the ice-cream. Iman had a few licks and when the ice-cream started to melt, Mummy had to be the one to finish it.
Then Iman asked Mummy to go into the shop where they are selling loads of chocolate. At first Iman wanted Mummy to buy a tub of M&M with statue of Pooh, which costs RM62! Luckily Iman changed her mind when Iman saw a long tube of Smarties with Princess Aurora Statue on it. That only cost RM23! Phew!! Mummy quickly bought that one! And Iman happily settled down and was ready to go to the Departure Hall.
By the time we went to the Departure Hall, we had just enough time to go "she-she" and it was time to board the plane. Iman and Mummy got the seats on the 3rd row. Since the flight was not really full, we had the 3 seats for just the 2 of us.
The flight was on schedule. When we arrived in Phuket, at the Passport Control counter, the immigration staff asked Mummy whether Mummy is an artiste. He was acquainted with Ning Baizura's and Amy Mastura's names, so he thought Mummy could be them. Graciously Mummy just told him that Mummy is not an artiste and we walked off to get our bag.
The van from the Royal Phuket City Hotel that Ayah has arranged to fetch us was quite late to reach the airport. Mummy got quite nervous waiting for it and Iman was wondering what were we doing outside the airport and why weren't we at the hotel yet?! It was a chore trying to explain to Iman that we had to wait for the van to pick us up before we could get to the hotel. When the van finally arrived, Iman went in and within a few minutes fall asleep in the van. We were the only 2 passangers picked from the airport to the hotel. The journey to the hotel took us about half an hour.
When Mummy asked the driver to show the places that had been affected by Tsunami along our way to the hotel, then driver laughed and told Mummy that the affected areas are near the beach. The city was not affected at all. Mummy felt so embarrassed that Mummy was so ignorant. He..he..he... Oh well... Mummy missed most of the news on Tsunami anyway coz that was the time when Mummy was in the hospital after delivering Iman... almost 4 years ago... Iman was born the day after Tsunami..

Ayah away from home.
Iman and Mummy went to send Ayah off to KL Sentral. Unfortunately Iman fall asleep before we reached KL Sentral, so Iman didn't really get to say good by to Ayah. Mummy was rather concerned because Iman might get upset to find Ayah gone when Iman woke up later. Luckily when we went to Nenek's house to send off the stuff we brought back from Kelantan, Iman was OK. Started to play with Tok Ayah and didn't cry asking for Ayah. Hmmm... we were on a good start.
That evening when we came back to the house Iman was still OK. Somehow refused to go to bed at 11 p.m. Iman said Iman wanted to stay up and wait for Ayah to come home. When Mummy told Iman that Ayah was not coming home that night, somehow Iman was still OK. At about 4 a.m. Mummy was awaken by Iman's restlessness. Iman told Mummy that Iman wanted Milo, so Mummy got up to prepare Milo (chocolate milk actually...) for Iman. When Mummy came back to bed, Iman was fully awake and told Mummy "Iman don't want to sleep. Iman want to wait for Ayah to come home..." Mummy told Iman that we were going to see Ayah the day after tomorrow, so Iman has to sleep first, get up later to go to school, then the next day we get to see Ayah in Phuket! Iman said "Phuket? Macam Pooh?!" and started to laugh. Well... at least that got thought cheered Iman up.
Oh gosh! Thank God Mummy had made plan for us to go to Phuket to meet up Ayah... otherwise Mummy would have to end up not getting enough sleep during Ayah's absence. Somehow eventhough Iman is close to Mummy, at the same time Iman is also close with Ayah... That makes it difficult sometime when Ayah had to go away for business trips like this.
Mummy is really not looking forward to Ayah's trip for Hajj. 40 over days away from home?! It will definitely be a long 40-day for Mummy and Iman. Hopefully when it is time for Ayah to go for his Hajj, Iman is old enough to understand and not to be moody and cry every night. But then again.. who knows.. Allah would be able to do anything to ease up the situation.. since the trip would be dedicated for Him anyway. InsyaAllah.. Mummy pray hard that things would be easy by then. Amiin...

Cameron Highlands to Simpang Pulai
Most people have been telling us that the Simpang Pulai way to Cameron Highlands is a straight road. Now we know better! It was definitely not a straight road! Straighter than the Tapah way, but still quite winding. Minus the vegetable lorries and buses! Which made the road more bearable.
Iman started to wake up during the winding road. Mummy and Ayah were worried when Iman said "sakit perut..." because that usually means Iman would throw up. K.Aisyah who was sitting at the back with Iman didn't know what 'sakit perut' means, kept rubbing Iman's tummy. Ha..ha..ha... Mummy kept telling K.Aisyah to hold a plastic bag in front of Iman's face in case Iman wanted to throw up.
Luckily Iman could hold up her vomit until we reached the rest area along the PLUS highway after the Simpang Pulai toll. Nothing much came out since Iman had not been eating much that day. But after throwing up a little bit of air, Iman suddenly felt so much better. Managed to eat almost half cup of corn by herself! Mummy was so glad.
We dropped off K.Aisyah at her Darul Quran college in Kuala Kubu Baru and went through Rawang and Selayang to get home. We finally reached home at 10:30 p.m. with 100 km extra compared to the usual way through Kuala Lipis, Raub and Bentong way.
All in all, it was a good trip. All cleaning up was only done the next day! Everybody were so tired!
Trip back through Lojing
Here's some pictures to keep as souvernirs of the trip. Good road and nice scenery. Mummy couldn't help but act as tourist, snapping away the pictures of the sceneries.

Picnic @ Pantai Irama Bachok
On Friday, morning was spent at Tok Ku's graveyard. Then we went back to have huge breakfast! Eating is a ritual whenever we went back to Kota Bharu coz there was so much too eat but so little time.. So every meal has to be filled with some kind of Kelantanese food that we have been missing while living in KL. Eventually Iman will understand this, Mummy hope. Mummy and Ayah will make sure Iman will know about all the Kelantanese food.
Then after resting a while after Friday prayer, the whole household of Jalan Merican, went to Pantai Irama, Bachok. We stopped at Ayah Nan's house in Bachok to solat Asar before going to the beach.
Below are the pictures taken during the picnic:
Once all cleaned bathed, we went up to dress up. There were a few kittens in the house. Here's some pictures of the kittens. Surprisingly Iman was not even scared to hold the kittens. She usually is scared of cats.. Maybe because they are kittens.. so adorable...
