Mummy got the sms from Ayah while we were in Cik Na's house saying that he is coming back on KT06. Everybody is so surprised and suggested that Mummy call Tabung Haji. Mummy did that and found out that Ayah's name is indeed in the list of KT06 and that KT06 was due to land in Kuala Trengganu on 15 Nov at 6:55 a.m. Mummy quickly smsed back to Ayah to inform about that. Ayah told Mummy that he would have to take that flight back even though it is supposed to land in Kuala Trengganu. It is good news.. but everybody just couldn't believe Ayah is coming back that soon.
I have to qualify that this blog was started to document my feelings about having a child. So naturally it will be about her... my Iman. I am documenting anything and everything about Iman and my feelings towards her during each of the event so that Iman can read all about her growing up years. And also so that Iman can understand my exact feeling during each of the event and be reminded how much she is loved.. long after I am no longer here in this world.

Our trip to Vietnam - Day 2 HCMC - Trip to Ben Thanh Market
We reached back at Sanouva Hotel at about 2 pm and it started to rain! Luckily we had some food in the fridge that Mummy ordered extra the night before, so we just stayed in and ate the lunch in our room.
The raining scenery from our room:
After the rain has stopped and we have rested, and after much persuasion, Iman and Mummy walked to Ben Thanh Market which was only about 3 to 5 minutes walk from Sanouva Hotel.
Here's the pictures captured around Ben Thanh Market:
The roundabout in front of Main Entrance of Ben Thanh Market
Malaysia is so popular in Vietnam! The advertisement!
Inside Ben Thanh Market
Bags and ladies' clothings
Arts and craft items for sale
Men's clothings
Shoes for sale. The old lady was making customized slippers.
Crystals and glassware
Tidbits for sale
Wet market behind Ben Thanh Market

The fruit market also behind the Ben Thanh Market

Mummy ended up didn't buy anything inside Ben Thanh Market as the market was really really congested and Mummy didn't want to take the risk of losing Iman while Mummy was busy looking at the goods sold and bargaining with the sellers.
We left Ben Thanh Market with some apples and two bottles of drinks and walked back to the hotel with the dusk approaching rapidly.
Our trip to Vietnam - Day 2 HCMC - Cu Chi Tunnel
We arrived at Cu Chi (pronounce like Gucci) Tunnel and there were many other tour buses already there.
Pictures taken from the tour:
Statues of the soldiers making the weapons:
Items sold at the souvenir shop:
We stopped for a short break and they served us tapioca with crushed peanut and sugar. It was quite good!
Another souvenir shop on our way out of the Cu Chi Tunnel area.
Pictures taken from the tour:
We didn't have to buy tickets as we have paid for the tickets in the tour fare
Watching movie before taking the tour
Iman took the pictures of Mummy.
That's the hole that I just went in!
That's the workers in that area... not the actual soldiers.
The trap when it was covered.
The trap opened when the enemy stepped on it!
Look at what was inside! It was so scary to see those sharp metals.
Our guide explaining about the mole hill. Iman was fascinated with the cob-web, so Mummy took the picture for Iman.
The hole at the bottom of the mole hill was used as the breathing hole by those people hiding in the tunnel.
Statues of the soldiers making the weapons:
Items sold at the souvenir shop:
The items were made from drinks cans.
Items in the shape of bombs!
Items made from bullets!
The lady is making rice paper
The rice paper being dried under the hot sun.
All sizes of the slippers made by the soldiers - the largest is Shaquielle O'Neal's?!
Mummy didn't try walking inside the tunnel as the guide strongly discourage for anybody who has asthma, high blood pressure and heart problem. Just posing at the mouth of the tunnel
The tunnel was quite narrow and stuffy that a few "mat sallehs" had to turn back coz they just couldn't move comfortably inside the tunnel. Those tunnels were never meant for non-Asian built people.
The lookout.
We stopped for a short break and they served us tapioca with crushed peanut and sugar. It was quite good!
Our tour group stopped for a rest. Iman trying the Vietnamese tea. Pandan flavoured tea! Quite nice.
The other tour group stopped for the tapioca and Vietnamese tea too.
The family from Philippines offered to take the pictures for us as we also helped to take pictures of them.
The bombs.
Another souvenir shop on our way out of the Cu Chi Tunnel area.
It was a good tour but Mummy was always busy reciting Ayat Kursi and blowing towards Iman - it was Ayah's advice to Mummy when Mummy told Ayah that we were going to Cu Chi Tunnel. Ayah just wanted us to get Allah's protection as the place might have lots of spirits of dead people due to massive death during the war. He doesn't want Iman to be "disturbed" by the spirit. Alhamdulillah nothing happened and Iman was just fine. Tired after the long walk that Iman slept through out the journey back to the city
